WARNING:
this review contains spoilers and I use the term "trailer trash"
as a general insult, it is not intended to be taken literally.
My
review of this movie will focus on 2 central themes found in this
movie:
1) absurdity
and
2) justice
1) Absurdity:
When I first started watching this movie, I almost turned it off.
Here is how it started: a young guy is involved with a married
woman with kids. There is a crazy trailer trash husband that wants
to get back with his wife. The trailer trash beats up the young
guy, and young guy refuses to call the cops. Then trailer trash
goes and destroys the woman's house, when young guy comes to the
rescue, he wants to call the cops. Woman says no for no apparent
reason. I am pretty sure she did not offer any rational basis
for ths decision, but just went away and mandated it. Then trailer
trash comes and kills young guy. Who would not call the cops on
that trashy guy?
ABSURDITY!
2)
Justice: Through various legal proceedings, trailer trash is not
in jail. It is popular saying that killing the trash will never
bring the young guy back, and that 2 wrongs don't make a right.
But the dad in this movie is solid. He knows he has to avenge his
son's death. He does not depend on the police, or the courts, or
anyone else. He goes out and kills the bad guy. Very fulfilling.
JUSTICE!
